Korea, Verified

Every guide to Korea says 2026. Almost none of them mean it.

Fares go up. Last trains move. An app quietly stops taking foreign cards. The article that told you otherwise stays online for years, and you have no way to tell. So everything here carries the day someone actually looked, and a link to the Korean page they looked at.

Korea, Verified is an independent reference for people arriving in or living in South Korea. It covers visas and arrival paperwork, airport transfers, transport cards and mobile data, and each figure is dated and linked to the Korean-language page it was read from. It is written and run from Incheon by Jayden Hwang.

First trip? Arriving in Korea, in order puts every step from visa to transport card in the sequence you hit them.

Korean emergency numbers: which interpreter desk is open at 3am

Only two numbers can send a vehicle, and the staffed interpreters behind them cover two languages. 1330 lists eight, four of them 08:00 to 19:00 only.

What the stamp is promising

Read in Korean
The operator or ministry that sets the number, in its own language. Not another English page.
Dated, not "updated"
The day the figures were checked, printed on the article. Older than the stamp means nobody has looked since.
Gaps are labelled
What could not be confirmed is named as unverified rather than quietly borrowed from someone else.

How the checking works

The tool behind the site, and what it signs in to

Reading this site asks nothing of you. There is no account, no login and no sign-in button, and nothing here reads a Google account belonging to a visitor.

Behind it sits Keyword CPC Reader, a command-line script I run on my own laptop to decide which questions to answer next. It signs in with Google OAuth to one account, mine, and requests a single permission: read access to Google Ads (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords). It uses that permission to read two things for keywords this site already writes about — how often people search them, and the advertiser bid range — and writes them to a file on the same laptop. It creates, edits and deletes nothing in that account, it never touches an account other than mine, and none of what it reads is published on this site or passed to anyone.
