Busan airport international flights leave from Gimhae International Airport, airport code PUS, which runs its own international terminal. On the Korea Airports Corporation’s schedule file dated 16 September 2026, Gimhae flies direct to seven Southeast Asian countries, from Bali to Vientiane. Jakarta is not on the list.
Which cities have flights to Gimhae International Airport from Southeast Asia?
These are the Southeast Asian cities with a scheduled flight to Gimhae in the Korea Airports Corporation’s file, with the landing time at Gimhae as the file prints it. The file covers the summer season, which ends on 24 October 2026.

The file has no Gimhae row at all for Jakarta, Batam, Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. Air Busan’s Kota Kinabalu flights are in it but ended in August. A Busan trip from any of those starts with a change somewhere else.
Busan to Jakarta: no direct flight, and the rights went back
Busan has one route to Indonesia, and it goes to Bali. Air Busan flies Busan to Bali, which Sports Kyunghyang put at four flights a week in June 2026. There is no Busan to Jakarta flight in the Korea Airports Corporation’s file.
That gap was supposed to close. KNN reported on 3 December 2025 that Air Busan and Jin Air were given rights to fly between Gimhae and Jakarta in May 2024. Neither airline launched the route in the year that followed, and both returned the rights in May 2025.
The two airlines gave KNN different reasons. Air Busan pointed to a January aircraft fire that took one of its longer-range planes out of service, and to delays in overseas heavy maintenance. Jin Air said adding flights had become hard after Korean Air and Asiana merged. Air Busan won its Bali rights in the same round, and Bali is the one of the two it flies.
The Busan city government told KNN it was waiting for the transport ministry to hand the Jakarta rights out again and had heard no concrete plan. No newer report of a reallocation was found when this page was checked. So treat Busan to Jakarta as a route with no airline attached, and plan a Jakarta trip through Incheon, which the Korea from Indonesia page covers from the visa end.
Gimhae airport international flights after 25 October: what changes
The winter season starts on 25 October 2026, and the Korea Airports Corporation had not published a winter file when this page was checked. The changes below come from airline announcements reported in the Korean press, so treat each one as the airline’s plan until it shows up on a booking page.
- Chiang Mai, Air Busan: from 11 November, four flights a week, rising to six a week in December, KNN reported on 2 October 2026. Newsis had printed 25 October in July and called that schedule provisional, so the later date is the one to use.
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Airlines: from 2 December 2026, four flights a week, on Malaysia Airlines’ own Korean promotion page. The summer file lists AirAsia X on Kuala Lumpur, and the airport operator’s March release said that route was resuming twice a week; whether AirAsia X flies it in winter was not confirmed.
- Da Nang, Korean Air: already in the summer file, and daily with an evening departure from 25 October, Newsis reported in July.
- Guangzhou, Air Busan: four flights a week from 25 October, in the same Newsis report.
- Xiamen and Hangzhou, Eastar Jet: Xiamen from 29 October and Hangzhou from 3 December, Gyeongnam Ilbo reported on 3 September 2026.
When do Busan flights to Southeast Asia land and leave?
Flights from Southeast Asia to Gimhae mostly land in the early morning, roughly from 06:00 to 10:00. In the Korea Airports Corporation’s file, the earliest is Vietnam Airlines from Nha Trang at 06:05 and the latest morning arrival is VietJet from Nha Trang at 09:50. Two arrive in the evening: Philippine Airlines from Manila at 19:50 and Korean Air from Da Nang, between 21:05 and 22:30 depending on the day.
Flights out of Gimhae split by airline. The Korean low-cost airlines leave in the evening, from Air Busan to Bali at 17:00 to Jin Air to Clark at 22:10. Singapore Airlines, VietJet and Vietnam Airlines leave in the morning, for example VietJet to Phu Quoc at 07:45 and Vietnam Airlines to Hanoi at 11:00. Two exceptions: Korean Air leaves for Da Nang in the morning, between 10:00 and 11:00, and Philippine Airlines leaves for Manila at 21:00.
An arrival before 07:00 lands before most of the city is open, so treat the first hours as time to get across Busan rather than time to check in. For an evening departure, the Gimhae airport lounge page lists which lounge is still open for a late flight.
Manila, Cebu or Singapore to Gimhae International Airport
All three have direct flights to Gimhae in the Korea Airports Corporation’s file, so a trip to Busan from any of them does not need Incheon.
- Manila: Philippine Airlines PR462 leaves Manila at 14:50 and lands at Gimhae at 19:50. The return, PR463, leaves Gimhae at 21:00.
- Cebu: Air Busan BX712 lands at 06:55 and Jin Air LJ062 at 07:25. Jin Air also flies from Clark and Jeju Air from Bohol.
- Singapore: Singapore Airlines SQ616 lands at 06:35 or 06:50, depending on the day, and Jeju Air 7C2662 at 08:10.
Seoul is a different matter. Gimpo, Seoul’s city airport, has no regular Southeast Asian route, which the Gimpo airport international flights page explains, so a Manila or Singapore flight to Seoul lands at Incheon.
How busy is Gimhae’s international side?
Kyunghyang Shinmun reported on 19 December 2025 that Gimhae’s international passenger count had passed 10 million, with 1,546 flights a week to 42 cities at the time. Those counts include Japan, China and Taiwan, which carry most of Gimhae’s routes; the Southeast Asian list above is the part that matters to a traveller from the south.
If you land at Gimhae with a T-money card left over at the end of the trip, the T-money refund at Busan and Gimhae page covers cashing it out.
What is not checked here
The routes and times come from the Korea Airports Corporation’s international schedule file dated 16 September 2026, read on 11 October 2026. The Jakarta rights, the winter routes and the passenger total come from the Korean news reports in the sources, and Malaysia Airlines’ route from its own promotion page.
Four things are unconfirmed. The file’s day-of-week column did not read cleanly, so this page gives no weekly frequency from it. The file ends on 24 October, and no winter file existed when this page was checked. AirAsia X’s winter Kuala Lumpur flights were not confirmed. And airline times change inside a season, so check the booking before you plan a pickup.
If a route here starts, stops or changes, or Busan to Jakarta gets an airline, tell me and this page will say so with a date.
Questions people actually ask
- Is Busan airport open for international flights?
- Yes. Gimhae International Airport, Busan's airport, runs scheduled international flights from its own international terminal. The Korea Airports Corporation's schedule file dated 16 September 2026 lists routes from Gimhae to Japan, China, Taiwan, Guam and Southeast Asia, including Bali, Manila, Cebu, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Da Nang and Nha Trang.
- Is there a flight from Manila to Gimhae International Airport?
- Yes. The Korea Airports Corporation's schedule file lists Philippine Airlines PR462 from Manila, leaving at 14:50 and landing at Gimhae at 19:50, and PR463 back to Manila at 21:00. That schedule runs to 24 October 2026, the end of the summer season, and the winter schedule was not yet published when this page was checked.
- Which airlines fly Cebu to Gimhae International Airport?
- Air Busan and Jin Air, on the Korea Airports Corporation's schedule file dated 16 September 2026. Air Busan BX712 lands at Gimhae at 06:55 and Jin Air LJ062 at 07:25, both overnight flights. Jin Air also flies from Clark, landing at 06:25, and Jeju Air from Bohol, landing at 06:55.
- Is there a direct flight from Singapore to Gimhae International Airport?
- Yes, two airlines fly it. Singapore Airlines' flight back leaves Gimhae in the morning, at 07:40 or 08:15 depending on the day.
- Is Gimhae International Airport in Busan?
- Yes. Gimhae International Airport is Busan's airport, with the airport code PUS, which is the code the Korea Airports Corporation's schedule file uses for every Gimhae flight. It takes its name from the neighbouring city of Gimhae, so a ticket to Busan lands there.
- Is there a direct flight from Jakarta to Busan?
- No. Air Busan and Jin Air were given rights to fly Busan to Jakarta in May 2024, never launched, and returned the rights in May 2025, KNN reported. The Busan city government is waiting for the transport ministry to hand them out again. Until then, Jakarta to Busan means a change at Incheon or another hub.
